Murder Mystery Evening
Saturday, 11th February 2023, 7.45 pm @
St.Mary’s Church Hall, Sherwood Avenue, Marshalswick, St. Albans AL4 9QA
Our Friends of Nevers, with whom we have an increasingly close collaboration, have organised an exciting evening of Murder Mystery to be held in Marshalswick, StAlbans. We are all cordially invited to help them solve the following whodunit:
“The Grand Cru estate on the fertile slopes of the Loire Valley is a small family run vineyard with rustic charm and appeal. The owners Max and Demi Liter regularly host wine tasting events.
On this evening, however, the vintage has more body than expected. The body of Max Liter is discovered in the vat of wine.
Who killed him and why?”
There will be a Fish and Chips supper with a vegetarian Halloumi option. There will also be drinks available (for a small donation) for those who do not bring their own.
The cost of the evening is £21. Payment to be made to Friends of Nevers, either by bank transfer or by cheque on the evening.

QUIZ Night
Saturday, 11th March 2023, 7 pm for 7.30 pm at Park Hall, Harpenden
We are fortunate to have secured Ginny once again for this very popular event. There will be the usual Fish and Chips supper with a vegetarian option, all provided by the best restaurant in town, Godfrey’s.
Please bring your own drinks and glasses, sauces, snacks and cutlery (wooden cutlery will be provided).
Any donations for the Raffle are welcome. We need to raise funds for the imminent French visit.
Bring along your friends and family for what is always a very entertaining evening.
The invitation is open to our friends of Alzey and friends of Nevers.
The cost of the evening is £15 which includes the supper.

Friends of Harpenden Visit
23th – 26th June 2023, Harpenden
The Friends of Harpenden visit is planned for 23th-26th June 2023 which is the weekend of St. Albans pilgrimage and celebrations. Anybody who is able to offer accommodation for our French friends, please contact Shona.
Féte Nationale BBQ 2023
Saturday, 8th July 2023, at 12.30 pm, 12 West Common Way, Harpenden
Moira and Chris have kindly offered to host this year’s Féte Nationale BBQ.

Sad News
We are sad to report the loss of two of our members. Derek Gill passed away peacefully a few months after the loss of his wife Ruth.
