French Christmas Carol Soirée

Plough & Harrow, 7pm for 7:30pm
This will be one of our favourite traditions. We will get together for some pre-Christmas drinks, snacks and mince pies.
The highlight of the evening will be singing French Carols, where we will provide the music sheets and the piano accompaniment. We hope it will be a highly enjoyable event for everyone.
The cost of the evening is £16 per person.

Christmas French Carol Singing Soirée
Thursday 4th December, 7 for 7:30pm, Plough & Harrow, 88 Southdown Road, Harpenden AL5 1PR
It is nearly time again for our much loved Christmas get together where we party, toast the festive season and sing traditional Christmas Carols in French. We are meeting again in the Plough and Harrow’s function room in Southdown.
On arrival you will be greeted with a Welcome Drink, courtesy of Friends of Cosne.
A hot buffet and mince pies will be provided by the pub.
After we’ve oiled our throats with the first drink, we will burst out in song.
The scores with the Carols in French will be provided by Friends of Cosne and we will have piano accompaniment.
The tickets are £16 each including food and a drink.

As usual we are meeting up on the first Wednesday of each month in the Oddfellow Arms in Harpenden. Feel free to join us even if you are late, or can only stop for half an hour.
Friends of Nevers’ French Supper and Military Whist Evening
Saturday 22nd November, from 7pm to 10pm, St Mary’s Church Hall, 1 Sherwood Avenue, St Albans AL1 9QA
After a hearty bowl of home made soup with French bread, pate and cheese, it’s time to compete for world domination by playing Whist in teams of four, all over a drink and a laugh!
Military Whist is a fun and competitive take on the traditional game of whist. Teams of four work as a country to invade and conquer whilst protecting home turf and returning home with flags. As players move around, you will get to play with and talk to everyone! Whist is easy to learn and even better, no experience is required to come out victorious!
The simple rules will be sent to you upon booking.
The cost per person is £18 for members and £20 for non-members including food.
Drinks can be purchased on the evening with cash. We will also hold our popular Raffle.

First Tuesday of each month, 2:30pm
On the first Tuesday of the month at 2.30pm we get together in people’s houses to speak French.
